Patriotic, poignant and pastoral, RBC Symphony Orchestra collects together a film music selection on war themes.听 Walton鈥檚 heroic music for The First of Few contrasts with the noble character of Vaughan Williams鈥檚 Prelude, and John Williams鈥檚 Hymn to the Fallen which it clearly influenced.听Doreen Carwithen鈥檚 swashbuckling and folk-inspired music accompanied a 1954 film of Robin Hood鈥檚 adventures.
